Swedish carved wooden ‘Hälsingland’ chest

A very beautiful carved oak wooden Swedish chest from the Hälsingland region which is well known for their beautiful preserved old farmhouses

All sides are hand carved in beautiful patterns with hearts in the front of the chest

These chests where made by the local craftsman and given with weddings

With lovely rustic hand forged ironwork on all sides of the chest, 2 small handles on each side

In its original beautiful sea blue colour, with its original lock and key and in excellent condition

Dating to the 18th century
