French Leach bowl
Something special!
A beautiful mouth blown leech bowl, used in the Pharmacy in the late 19th century
This bowl was used to store the leaches, because of the shape of the bowl they could’nt crawl out of it
Made in a small but well known glas factory Vallerysthal Portieux, which made daily glassware bit also special items on request
The bowl itself has a wonderful wobbly structure in the glass, and its stem is decorated with dolphins and a pearl edge on the bottom
A very special item, lovely to be displayed in a vitrine or cabinet of curiositys
Dated around the late 19th ct / early 1900’s and in excellent condition
