French handpainted Napoleon3 glove box

A lovely French antique glove box from the Napoleon3 period

This beautiful box is handpainted with a lovely lady with her dog and some playing children in the background

The front and back are also decorated with lovely handpainted ribbons and garlands around the box

The interior has its original silk lining in the most stunning green/blue ‘verdigris’ colour

The box has a weathered surface, some small retouched paintwork and the silk interior shows degradation which is normal considering its age

Dating from the 1860-1880’s this lovely box is still in wonderful condition
