French butchers display table

A wonderful French butchers / pastry table from the South of France

Beautifully constructed with a black painted cast iron frame featuring decorative scrolled elements and a white marble top

The old marble has never been replaced, it has a few scuffs and smaller chips to the edge which is at the top surface of the plate

Some were used to prepare meat, while others were reserved as presentation tables in the shops window to display the best cuts of meat

The primary purpose of these beautiful tables was for use in a butcher shop

The table is standing sturdy on its base, a beautiful piece designed for a shop during the 19th century and today a wonderful piece of antique design in the livingroom, imagine serving drinks or food from this stunning table

Dating from the 19th century, worn with age but in wonderful condition
